Tarique Rahman will lead Bangladesh as future Prime Minister: Mirza Fakhrul

Desk News

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has declared that the party’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, is destined to become the future Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Speaking at the national conference of the Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) held at Willes Little Flower School and College in Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Tarique Rahman is our future Prime Minister.” The event was attended by Tarique Rahman as the chief guest, with DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid presiding and National University Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Lutfor Rahman conducting the proceedings.

Mirza Fakhrul stressed that the BNP’s political mission goes beyond restoring voting rights or establishing a democratic system. According to him, the party aims to ensure all fundamental rights for citizens, including access to food, healthcare, and basic social services. He praised the expertise of Bangladeshi doctors, calling them among the best in the subcontinent, but lamented that systemic inefficiencies and political divisions have held the sector back.

“The culture of mutual animosity has destroyed us,” he said, urging political actors and citizens alike to break free from the entrenched hostility that he believes has undermined national progress. He also cautioned against politics driven solely by slogans, calling for practical, solution-oriented approaches instead.

Highlighting Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform plan, Mirza Fakhrul claimed it could bring “revolutionary changes” not only to the healthcare sector but also to other vital areas of governance. He stressed that the BNP envisions a comprehensive restructuring of the country’s service sectors, aiming for efficiency, accessibility, and fairness.

Addressing the role of the DAB, he described it as pivotal in shaping the nation’s future. “Your responsibility is immense,” Fakhrul told the gathering. “On one hand, you must serve the people through your profession, and on the other, you have to help build the country’s future. Assisting policymakers in developing sound health policies is part of your duty.”

The conference brought together medical professionals, academics, and political leaders, reflecting the BNP’s focus on forging stronger links between policy development and expert input from the professional community.
